"Dear John Letter"

I LOVE this beat!

Sound familiar? Michael Jackson's "Liberian Girl"/ Tupac's "Letter To My Unborn Child"

Before I wake up to the day that everything is gone,
I got make up for the days that I silenced my song,
All those times when I should have said somethin’,
Crept up in my mind, Now I’m runnin’ out of time,
And the feelin’ is burnin’ me internally, like 3rd degree,
And no matter how poetically these words flow,
I’ll feel guilty if I never let you know

Verse One:
20 years of my life dedicated to you,
Not a man of great wealth but you gave me you,
Signed the papers, got away from my moms,
15 years since & you still go hard, I salute you
You were Dedicated, No hesitation on the child support,
Never stood me up on my birthdays,
Even though since then we done had worse days,
Word is bond in this Dear John (actual name) letter,
Your blood daughter, but I could’ve been better though,
And no matter how poetically these words flow,
I’ll feel guilty if I never let you know,
Dear father, I love you,

Verse Two:
Verse one was just scratchin’ the surface,
Gotta have love for the women that birthed us,
Dear Mama, don’t you know that you’re appreciated,
Can’t lie for some reason thought your love was hate for me,
Cuz Ms. Jackson, you Disciplined,
As a result had tougher skin by the time I was 10,
Now I’m gracious, & you worked two jobs for us to get by for wages,
Your character immeasurable, you’re still my pinnacle,
And when credits roll, everyone will get to see where the credit goes,
It’s all to you, and though we argue like the best of them,
We come back as one unlike the rest of them,
You’re everything to me, no Jodeci,
When I was young, you were mean plenty
Now that I’m 20, you’re my queen and you truly mean plenty,
When I get that MD it’s you I owe, more than this verse could show,
And no matter how poetically these words flow,
I’ll feel guilty if I never let you know,
Dear mama, I love you
